Geographic Scope: Nationwide Client(s): Anonymous Services: Professional Development, Publications, Technical Assistance and Coaching Expertise: Immigrant Integration and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Website: https://edtech.worlded.org This project responds to a growing demand by immigrant adults for remote English learning opportunities by documenting and disseminating promising, technology-enabled, remote ESL instruction and support services and challenges. It will identify key considerations for scaling in anticipation of comprehensive immigration reform that is likely to include a language requirement for citizenship. The project will result in eight case studies highlighting critical features of effective, technology-enabled ESL instruction and a supplementary online repository of promising practices. A policy brief will identify implications for funding, policy, and practice. |
