Dates: 2018-2019 State: Massachusetts Client(s): Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Service: Technical Assistance and Coaching Expertise: Immigrant Integration and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) In an exciting partnership between World Education and Boston’s Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center, 22 Seaport employees are taking workplace-based, customized ESOL classes in a workplace education program called English for Seaport Team Members.
Now in its fourth year, this project helps Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center “team members” to more effectively do their jobs and grow their careers, while contributing to the high quality of service provided to their guests. A collaborative Planning and Evaluation Team, comprised of World Education lead staff and Seaport supervisors, managers, and program participants, plays an active role in program governance and provides input into curriculum so that instruction directly connects to workplace needs.
The Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center is funding this project directly after three years of public funding.
