e-Learning
World Education uses technology-enabled learning solutions to improve reach and access to high-quality training and technical assistance. World Education's instructional designers collaborate with content experts to develop training and online courses from concept to production. World Education maintains a nimble learning management system that supports courses in multiple formats, including, self-paced and instructor-led. Courses can be accessed from desktop computers as well as mobile devices.
World Education’s EdTech Center
World Education’s EdTech Center supports educators in integrating technology into instruction and program delivery to accelerate learning, digital literacy, and college and career readiness. Services provided include:
- Course Development. For the Virginia Career Coach project (VCCS), a comprehensive self-paced course was developed that serves as the cornerstone for the VCCS Career Coach Certification
- Hosting and Implementation. The EdTech Center has partnered with TERC to develop, host, and implement their Mathematizing ESOL courses. This series of three facilitated online courses is offered regularly to public and to private groups.
- System Evaluation and Improvement. World Education is supporting work by the National Immigration Forum by advising them on their e-Learning strategy, helping to maximize the benefits of their online courses and prepare for scaling up.
- E-learning Support for Students and Teachers. Projects such as English Now provide students who are studying online with peer-driven in-person study circles to boost persistence and offer support. Tech Tips blog posts offer teachers suggestions for learning and teaching online in addition to other topics.
