In 2003, World Education launched the non-profit World Education Australia Limited, now a leading provider of microfinance, microenterprise, and livelihoods support services in the Asia Pacific region. Between 2011 and 2016, World Education implemented the ConnectEd program in Australia and five other countries. Funded by the Alcatel-Lucent Foundation, ConnectEd worked in communities around the world that have higher levels of youth unemployment and lower levels of income compared to the national average. Through ConnectEd, participants gained access to a range of accredited vocational training, work experience, and work placement opportunities. |
