Field Notes
Field Notes is a quarterly theme-based newsletter written by
adult basic education practitioners in Massachusetts. Field
Notes is a place for teachers, administrators, counselors,
and other staff in adult education to write about their work
and to share innovative and reliable practices, resources,
and information. In Field Notes you will find new ideas,
discussion of current issues, policies and practices, and
reviews of books and other materials. Field Notes incorporates
a wide range of voices representing the full range of diversity
of learners and practitioners in the field. Edited by Lenore
Balliro. Field Notes is free to ABE practitioners in Massachusetts;
annual hardcopy subscription outside Massachusetts is $15.00.

Talking Together: Training for Community Interpreters
This training is designed to improve the skills of interpreters
who work in medical, social service, and legal settings.
It includes all the information necessary to run the 15-hour
training. The Interpreter's Handbook should be used as a

1999 Workplace Education Guide
