FOR MEN: Prostate Cancer Screening
- What it checks for: Changes in your prostate and in your blood that might be signs of prostate cancer. The prostate is a sex gland in men located below the bladder.
- What is done: Your health care provider feels carefully inside your rectum to check your prostatefor any changes. Some blood may be taken from your arm and looked at in a lab.
- Who should be tested: Men ages 50 and over.
- How often: Once a year.
