Job Title: Bantwana Finance Manager
Posting Date: 08/03/2012
Deadline Date:
03/23/2013
Description:
The Bantwana Initiative of World Education, Inc. was launched in 2006 to address the growing crisis of orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) and their households in high prevalence sub-Saharan African countries. Bantwana currently partners with 100 local organizations and schools, which will reach more than 80,000 OVC with urgently needed services by the end of 2010. In coordination with national and local government programs, Bantwana provides technical and management capacity building to community-based organizations (CBOs) helping vulnerable families access a comprehensive range of care and services through programs and partnerships that affect positive change and a more supportive environment for vulnerable children from the household to the policy level. Bantwana fosters lasting cooperation of government ministries, schools, civil society, and traditional leaders to ensure the continuity of best practices and community mobilization beyond the life of the project. Bantwana's OVC expertise is buttressed by World Education, Inc.'s fifty years of experience mobilizing communities and government stakeholders in Africa, Asia, and the United States to lead programs and develop and advocate for policies which improve the lives of vulnerable families through education, HIV prevention, child protection, gender empowerment, and livelihoods development.
