A staggering number of local communities in Asia, Africa and the United States are struggling with the devastating effects of social, political and economic hardships. World Education's grassroots approach has been an effective method for helping communities transition into more functional and independent societies. Instead of viewing the societal structure from the top down, we strengthen local non-governmental organizations and institutions that encourage people to actively participate in civic initiatives. Equally, World Education links local communities with regional and national policymakers to ensure that government meaningfully and effectively responds to local needs and helps to stabilize societies in transition. Through our participatory approach, we help communities achieve tangible goals which lead to better economic opportunities, stronger youth development, conflict resolution, peaceful reconstruction, and overall improvement in the living conditions of people and families in transitioning societies.
