When Anjana was orphaned at the age of 4, a neighbor sent her to work as a domestic helper. Denied an education and any sense of a normal childhood, Anjana felt hopeless, "I was yelled at so much and cried so much, I thought I had no more tears left to cry."
As a teenager, Anjana enrolled in World Education's literacy and skills development class, aimed at helping young people like Anjana build a future beyond child labor and exploitation. After completing the class, Anjana began vocational training to become a beautician. Eventually, she took out a loan and started her own business.
Today, Anjana is the proud owner of Pretty Woman Beauty Parlor, and one floor above, she is opening her own handicraft shop. "I feel strong and even without anyone; I can take care of myself.' Help girls like Anjana create a new life and a new sense of hope for themselves today!
